ISRO internship has been announced for students as part of the holistic education concept under NEP-2020. The UR Rao Satellite Centre (URSC) is offering internship opportunities to students to help them gain exposure to the practical side of learning. URSC, one of the leading centres of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), provides opportunities for students to undertake internships as well as project work as part of their academic curriculum.

The ISRO internship opportunity is open to undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students. The duration of the internship will range from a minimum of 15 days to a maximum of 45 days. However, the organisation has clearly stated that no stipend, transport or canteen facilities will be provided to the selected candidates. However, certificates will be provided to students upon completion of internship.
Who Can Apply for ISRO Internship?
As per the guidelines provided on the official website, candidates must be citizens of India and should be pursuing under-graduation, post-graduation and PhD from a recognised university or institution in India or abroad. Candidates who have completed their undergraduate or postgraduate courses within six months from the date of course completion can also apply.

The notification further mentions that applicants should be enrolled in a regular on-campus program or must have completed their degree as regular students. Additionally, only students studying in the fifth semester or third year onwards are eligible to apply.
How to Apply for ISRO Internship?
Interested students will have to apply online by uploading the required documents. These include:
- Marksheets of all previous semesters.
- Resume with all the latest information.
- Request or permission letter from the Principal or Head of Department, clearly mentioning the duration of the internship and duly signed and sealed.
URSC has stated that internships will be allotted based on the availability of projects, facilities and the suitability of the student’s academic background. The allotment will be done on a first come, first serve basis, and the number of available slots is limited. The organisation has also informed that the application portal for the April to June 2026 window has been closed due to a high number of applications. The next application window will reopen on 4 May 2026 at 10:00 am for internships scheduled between 1 July and 30 September 2026.
Student Project Trainee Scheme at URSC
URSC is also offering a Student Project Trainee Scheme for undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students to carry out their final year or semester projects. The duration and eligibility vary depending on the course, with minimum durations ranging from 30 days to 120 days.
Students applying for project work must have secured at least 60 per cent marks or a CGPA of 6.32 on a scale of 10. Similar to the internship programme, no financial assistance, stipend or accommodation will be provided under this scheme. Interested candidates willing to apply for project work must send their resume, request letter from their college and all semester mark sheets via post or email to the URSC HR department.
