NHAI Begins Toll Collection on Dwarka Expressway: How to Obtain Monthly and Annual Pass

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Government of India, has started to collect a toll fee for vehicles commuting across the newly inaugurated Dwarka Expressway. A FASTag would be mandatory to pass through the highway, and the absence of the same would result in commuters paying double the fee, which amounts to Rs 440. However, NHAI has clarified that locals residing within 20 km radius may apply for either a monthly or annual pass to ensure hassle free travel.

“NHAI has started toll collection on Dwarka Expressway at Bijwasan Toll Plaza! To ensure convenience for local commuters, 3 lanes on each side of the Expressway have been reserved for next 3 days, for local residents to pass. During this period, locals residing within 20 km radius are advised to obtain a Monthly Pass, available at Rs 340, or opt for an Annual Pass for continued hassle-free travel,” said the organisation on X.

“To facilitate this process, multiple camps have been set up near toll plaza to help local users easily register and obtain their passes. This initiative ensures a smooth transition to toll operations while maintaining convenience for nearby residents and daily commuters,” added NHAI.

How to Obtain the Monthly an Annual Pass for NHAI Toll?

Commuters residing within 20 km radius of the Dwarka Expressway may apply for the monthly pass costing Rs 340, using which vehicles will be allowed to pass through the tolls a limited number of times. Also, users will need to submit their proof of adress in the form of Aadhaar and also their vehicle registration certificates (RC). Users may also proceed with apply for the annual passes by paying Rs 3000, using which they will be allowed to pass through the tolls 200 times. To obtain the annual pass users will have to do the following:

• Downoad the Rajmargyatra app by the Government of India.
• The pass is available only for non-commercial vehicles.
• The vehicles must have a FASTag that is active with balance, and is not blacklisted, hotlisted or under e-notice.
• The existing FASTag may be recharged with Rs 3000 annual toll pass through the Rajmargyatra app, and the Annual toll plaza will come into effect within 2 hours.
