Global cybersecurity leader Subhajit Deb has been appointed Global Head – Cyber Engineering and Technology Operations at Cargill, one of the world’s largest food, agriculture, and industrial conglomerates. He announced the move on LinkedIn, saying, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Global Head – Cyber Engineering and Technology Operations at Cargill.”
With over two decades of experience spanning cybersecurity, privacy, information technology, and digital transformation, Deb brings deep expertise in building resilient, business-aligned security programs for complex, regulated enterprises. His career reflects a blend of strategic vision and hands-on leadership across industries including financial services, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and immigration technology.
Before joining Cargill, Deb served as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Head of Information Technology at Envoy Global, where he led enterprise-wide initiatives in cybersecurity, risk management, and technology modernization. His previous leadership roles include Global CISO and DPO for APAC at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, CISO at Max Life Insurance, and Head of Information Security and Business Continuity at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. Earlier in his career, he held key positions at Bank of America and Dell, gaining extensive exposure to global IT operations and security frameworks.
Deb’s contributions to the cybersecurity community extend beyond his corporate roles. He has been recognized among the Top 100 CISOs, holds certifications such as CISM and CRISC, and has two granted U.S. patents, with additional filings and trade secrets in the areas of information security and risk management. He also serves on advisory boards for cybersecurity institutions and mentors emerging security startups, frequently speaking at global conferences on cyber resilience and digital risk.
