    DRDO Internship 2026: 33 Vacancies Announced for Graduates, Stipend to Be Paid

    DRDO internship 2026 has been announced at Solid State Physics Laboratory, Delhi for graduates. Selected candidates will be engaged at SSPL for one year, and be paid a stipend as allotted by Apprentice Act 1961, Apprentice Rules, 1992 and Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules, 2015. DRDO apprentice salaries vary by qualification, typically providing a monthly stipend of around Rs 9,000 to Rs 15,000 for graduate apprentices and Rs 8,000 to Rs 11,000 for diploma apprentices. 

    Who Can Apply for DRDO Internship 2026?

    The DRDO internship 2026 opportunity is only open to candidates who have completed the qualifying examination as regular candidates. The official notification issued states that candidates with the following qualifications may apply for the 33 vacancies:

    ITI apprentice: ITI in fitter, electronics, electronics mechanic, electrician, computer operator and programming assistant (COPA), and machinist.

    Diploma apprentice: Diploma in electrical, mechanical, electronics, instrumentation, and computer science.

    Graduate apprentice: Regular graduation degree in physics, chemistry, maths, or computer science. Candidates with a BA or BCom as well as BE or BTech from electronics, mechanical, electrical, communication engineering, VLSI, or chemical engineering from a recognized university or institution may apply.

    Candidates who have passed their BSc, BE, BTech, Diploma, ITI, BA, or BCom degree in the years 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, or 2025 are eligible to apply, while candidates who passed the qualifying examination earlier than 2021 are not eligible for the DRDO internship opportunity. Additionally, candidates must have registered their names at https://nats.education.gov.in, and non-registered candidates are likely to be rejected for diploma and graduate positions.

    In the same vein, for ITI positions, candidates must have registered their names at https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in, and non-registered candidates are likely to be rejected. Shortlisted candidates will be called for either an interview or a written test, and selections will be made based on the candidate’s performance.  The period of internship will be 12 months commencing from execution of the contract. Interested and edible candidates are advised to read the official notification before applying for the posts.
