Apple recently launched an accesory that was not being expected by users. Inspired by the concept of “a piece of cloth,” Apple unveiled the iPhone Pocket by ISSEY MIYAKE that has been designed to fit any iPhone as well as all pocketable items. The iPhone Pocket will be available across France, Greater China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the UK, and the US at Apple Stores and the Apple website from 14 February onwards. However, this accessory has been priced at $149.95 for the short strap design, and $229.95 for the long strap design, which has lead to internet users calling the invention “absurd”.

“AI is changing the world right now and what is Apple launching? A completely overpriced iPhone Pocket. Steve Jobs would have never done that,” says Jan Ruttinger on X. “The iPhone pocket everybody. $230 for a cut up sock. Apple people will pay anything for anything as long as it’s Apple,” adds another user.

“Will Apple fanboys defend this too? Apple just dropped the “iPhone Pocket” basically a $230 knitted bag to wear your iPhone. At this point, it honestly feels like Apple is just testing how far its fans will go to justify anything,” adds another user. Apple says that the new product stems from the idea of creating an additional pocket, and its understated design fully encloses iPhone.

Its recognizable silhouette offers a beautiful new way to carry your iPhone, AirPods, and favorite everyday items.”
The short strap design is available in lemon, mandarin, purple, pink, peacock, sapphire, cinnamon, and black, and the long strap design is available in sapphire, cinnamon, and black.
