Calvary Health Care has named Ramesh Raghavan as its new Chief Technology Officer, bringing on board a seasoned digital leader with deep experience in driving technology-led transformation across healthcare and large global organisations. Announcing his appointment, Raghavan said he was excited to begin a new chapter at an organisation whose values closely align with his own. “I’m truly honoured to join Calvary Health Care as Chief Technology Officer. It’s a privilege to contribute to an organisation built on care, compassion and service, and to work closely with John Sutherland and the broader leadership team to advance Calvary’s digital vision,” he said.
Raghavan brings more than 25 years of experience in digital strategy, enterprise technology, and transformation, spanning both private and not-for-profit sectors. Known for his collaborative leadership style, he has led complex, large-scale programs with globally distributed teams, translating strategy into practical outcomes that support organisational goals.
Before joining Calvary Health Care, Raghavan held several senior roles at Uniting, including Head of Digital, Innovation and Experience, Head of Strategy and Architecture, and Acting CIO. In these roles, he played a pivotal part in shaping Uniting’s digital roadmap, overseeing enterprise architecture, cybersecurity governance, and the adoption of AI-enabled solutions across clinical and care environments. His work included initiatives in remote patient monitoring, telehealth, data-led decision-making, and SaaS-based transformation programs aimed at improving both care delivery and operational efficiency.
Earlier in his career, Raghavan spent close to 16 years with Tata Consultancy Services, followed by leadership roles as Consulting Partner for Strategy and Transformation in Australia and New Zealand. He has worked with major organisations across banking, retail, energy, and public services, including Woolworths Australia, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Credit Suisse, India Post, and Snowy Hydro, leading business-critical transformation and technology modernisation initiatives. In his new role at Calvary Health Care, Raghavan will focus on strengthening the organisation’s digital and technology foundations, with an emphasis on data, AI, and secure enterprise platforms to support high-quality patient care and long-term sustainability.
