    Indians on H1-B visa in America Must Come Back Home: Sridhar Vembu

    Donald Trump’s recent order demanding a $100,000 payment to accompany or supplement H-1B visa for new applications has invited criticism from several notable personalities. Sridhar Vembu, Chief Research Scientist, Zoho Corporation has also stated his opinion on this new development.

    “I have heard so many accounts from Sindhi friends about how their families had to leave everything and come to India during partition. They rebuilt their lives and Sindhis have done well in India. I am sad to say this, but for Indians on an H1-B visa in America, this may be that time. Come back home.” he said.

    Vembu also used to live in the United States and had launched his professional career working for Qualcomm as a wireless engineer in San Diego, California, before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area. He use to live in San Jose and Pleasanton. “It may take 5 years to rebuild your lives but it will make you stronger. Do not live in fear. Make the  bold move. You will do well,” added Vembu in his post.

    According to data provided by FWD.us, there are a total of as many as 730,000 H-1B visa holders in the US, and Indians dominate the H-1B programme, making up more than 70% of the recipients in recent years. China came second amounting to 12% of beneficiaries.
