Global FMCG major Unilever has appointed Reema Jain as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO), marking a significant leadership move as the company accelerates its technology, AI, and digital transformation journey worldwide. Expressing her enthusiasm on stepping into the new role, Jain said, “Thrilled to step into the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Unilever. Jain, who is based in Bengaluru, took charge as CIO in February 2026, after serving in multiple senior leadership roles within Unilever’s global technology organization. Most recently, she held the dual responsibilities of Site Lead, Global Capability Center (India) and Global Vice President of Digital Technology, where she led the company’s global technology foundation and enterprise architecture initiatives.
In her new role, Jain is expected to spearhead Unilever’s global technology strategy, with a strong focus on AI-driven innovation, cloud transformation, cybersecurity, enterprise platforms, and data-led decision-making. Her appointment comes at a time when Unilever is deepening investments in advanced analytics, automation, and digital capabilities to enhance operational efficiency, agility, and consumer engagement.

Before rejoining Unilever, Jain served as Chief Information and Digital Officer (CIDO) at Hero MotoCorp, where she led the end-to-end digital transformation of the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer. Over a three-year tenure, she reshaped Hero MotoCorp’s digital roadmap across R&D, supply chain, marketing, manufacturing, and customer engagement, building a robust platform-product operating model and setting up high-impact digital capabilities in Data Science, Cloud, Cybersecurity, Digital Engineering, Connected Platforms, and Martech.
She also played a critical role in monetizing digital platforms by driving strategic initiatives such as Direct-to-Consumer (D2C), customer applications, and finance aggregator platforms, significantly strengthening the company’s digital business models. Earlier, Jain served as Chief Digital Officer at Vodafone Idea, where she led enterprise-wide digital strategy and transformation programs aimed at shifting the organization’s positioning from Telco to TechCo, driving new digital revenue streams, customer experience enhancements, and operational efficiencies.
Jain is no stranger to Unilever, having earlier spent over five years at the company in leadership roles including IT Director – Digital Supply Chain, IT Director – Digital Integration, and IT Director – ERP Application Management. During this period, she led large-scale global programs across SAP transformation, digital logistics, integration platforms, cloud strategy, and enterprise modernization, managing global teams and multi-million-dollar technology portfolios.
Her professional journey also includes over 13 years at GE, where she held multiple leadership roles spanning Oracle Technology Leadership, ERP Operations, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, and engineering leadership positions. Her tenure at GE saw her lead large ERP platforms for multi-billion-dollar businesses, implement major technology upgrades, and drive operational excellence and cost optimization programs.
With over two decades of experience, Reema Jain is widely recognized as an accomplished IT and digital transformation leader, specializing in cloud, AI, analytics, DevOps, cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture. She has built and led high-performing global teams, driven platform-led innovation, and delivered large-scale business transformation programs across industries including FMCG, automotive, telecom, and manufacturing.
