Zoom Phone, Zoom Video Communications’ VoIP phone offering, is now available in India. The company has issued a statement saying the native phone number support will be available starting with the Maharashtra Telecom Circle (Pune), followed by Karnataka (Bangalore), Tamil Nadu (Chennai), Andhra Pradesh (Hyderabad), Mumbai and Delhi telecom circles, covering all the major technology centers in India.

Zoom India received the Unified License with Access — All/PAN India and Long Distance licenses from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India, in April 2023 after which it established its dedicated domestic infrastructure and compliance with Indian regulatory requirements. “We are excited to bring Zoom Phone to India, first rolling it out in the Maharashtra Telecom Circle (Pune), empowering multinational enterprises and homegrown companies of all sizes to support dynamic workstyles, improve employee engagement, and elevate the customer experience,” said Sameer Raje, general manager and head of India & SAARC region, Zoom.

Zoom Phone aims at offering its users a reliable, secure, and flexible voice communication solution that can be integrated with Zoom Workplace. Zoom Phone provides local telephony services and is available as an add-on to Zoom’s existing paid customers, said a statement from the company. With support for inbound and outbound calling through the public switched telephone network (PSTN), enterprise customers can replace their existing PBX solution and consolidate their business communication requirements into one platform, says Zoom. - It serves as a single, unified platform for meetings, phone, and team chat on Windows, Apple MacOS, Apple iOS and Google Android devices.
- It is compatible with a variety of desk phones from leading manufacturers.
- Call transfers, forwarding, voicemails, call blocking and call recording is all possible on the Phone.
- Native Salesforce.com integration improves productivity with click-to-dial, screen pops, and automated call activity logging.
- Zoom Phone allows integration with business applications to enhance employee and customer engagement experiences.
- Users can request a post-call summary from Zoom’s AI Companion, allowing them to focus on the conversation and perform their work without the need to take notes.
