Universo Ferrari Begins in New Delhi, Ferrari Luce Unveiled

Ferrari has opened Universo Ferrari, its immersive exhibition experience, in New Delhi, bringing together the Italian luxury sports carmaker’s heritage, current models, racing legacy and future technologies. The exhibition also features the unveiling of Ferrari Luce, the company’s first all-electric car, marking a new chapter in its approach to electric mobility. Held at Yashobhoomi, India International Convention and Expo Centre, the fifth edition of Universo Ferrari runs from 17 October to 1 November 2026. The exhibition welcomes invited guests on 17 and 18 October before opening to the public from 19 October.

The experience showcases Ferrari’s portfolio and engineering capabilities, highlighting the company’s focus on performance, innovation, design and craftsmanship. Alongside the Luce, visitors can explore models including the 849 Testarossa, Ferrari Purosangue, Ferrari 12Cilindri, Ferrari Amalfi Spider and F80, as well as examples of the marque’s racing heritage.

Benedetto Vigna, Chief Executive Officer, Ferrari, said India’s energy, optimism and determination resonated with the values that have shaped the company since its inception. “We, audaciously, redefine the limit of possible,” Vigna said, describing the company’s purpose. He added that Ferrari saw India as more than a market, with the country also representing an important source of talent, partnerships and opportunities. “We believe in India, and it’s not something that is new,” Vigna said, referring to Ferrari’s longstanding presence in the country.

He recalled Ferrari’s 2008 journey across India with two Ferrari 612 Scaglietti cars, covering approximately 13,000 kilometres across the country’s diverse landscapes. According to Vigna, the journey demonstrated that Ferrari cars combine performance and design with craftsmanship, comfort and versatility. “We believe this is the right time to be more present,” he added.

Vigna also highlighted the importance of the community surrounding the brand, including customers, dealers, suppliers and other stakeholders. He said Ferrari’s relationship with India extended beyond vehicles to shared enthusiasm for performance, innovation and the driving experience. “Last but not least, Ferrari is a universe. It’s much more than cars,” he said, adding that the company sought to bring together tradition and innovation as it developed its future products and technologies.

Ferrari Luce: A New Chapter in Electric Mobility

Emanuele Carando, Head of Global Product Marketing, Ferrari, described the exhibition as an opportunity to present the company’s past, present and future, with the Luce representing its latest step in product development. “When we started the project five years ago, we had one clear objective in mind. We didn’t want to develop a new electric vehicle. We wanted to develop a completely new Ferrari,” Carando said.

He explained that the electric platform enabled Ferrari to explore new ways of delivering the driving experience and emotional engagement associated with the brand. The Luce, he said, was designed as an addition to Ferrari’s portfolio rather than a replacement for its existing powertrain technologies. “Ferrari Luce is an addition,” Carando said, describing the model as a new chapter in the company’s history.

Carando added that innovation at Ferrari was not simply about developing new technologies or patents, but about improving the experience behind the wheel. “Innovation has been developed in order to have the hearts of the people beating,” he said. “Innovation is designed to maximise driver emotion. We call it driving thrills.” The Luce incorporates Ferrari’s experience in motorsport and engineering, while introducing a new design and human-interface system intended to make the car intuitive and engaging to drive. Carando said the development drew on the company’s 79-year history of performance, design and craftsmanship.

Technical Features and Performance of Ferrari Luce

Andrea Binotti, Head of EV Product Line, Ferrari, said the Luce was developed around three key principles: uniqueness, driving thrills and versatility. “Luce is not just an electric car but is the first Ferrari born electric,” Binotti said. “And we decided to make it electric because it was the only way to raise up driving thrills and versatility together beyond every other technology.”

According to Binotti, the car uses a new architecture with 95% new components and incorporates more than 60 patents. The battery is positioned beneath the floor, lowering the centre of gravity by 100 mm compared with an internal-combustion-engine architecture. Ferrari has also positioned the axles close to the centre of the car to improve agility and reduce the yaw moment by around 20%, he said.

The company has developed key components in-house, including the front and rear axles and the battery, with the aim of supporting long-term servicing and parts availability. The battery architecture also allows for the possibility of adapting cell technology in the future. Ferrari Luce’s stated performance figures include more than 1,050 horsepower, a top speed of 310 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. The car can reach 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds and has a claimed range of 530 kilometres.

The model features four-wheel drive and, for the first time in a Ferrari, five seats. Binotti said the company had also focused on cabin comfort, using advanced glazing and a rear suspended subframe designed to improve comfort on rough roads while retaining the lateral stiffness required for sporty driving. He said the engineering challenge was to combine the versatility of an electric vehicle with the driving characteristics expected of a Ferrari.

India’s Growing Role in Ferrari’s Ecosystem

Vigna also highlighted the role of Indian customers, colleagues and business partners in Ferrari’s engagement with the country. He cited the company’s partnership with Avalon Lux, which is set to become Ferrari’s official partner in the Hypercar category from January 2027 and its regional partner in the Middle East for Ferrari Challenge. He said Ferrari viewed motorsport not only as a means of developing technology but also as a platform for collaboration and engagement.

Universo Ferrari brings these different dimensions together, offering visitors a closer look at the company’s road cars, racing programmes and emerging technologies. Through the exhibition and the introduction of the Luce, Ferrari is presenting a vision that draws on its motorsport heritage while exploring new possibilities for electric performance. As Vigna put it, the challenge is to combine the company’s heritage with its ambitions for the future: “We put these two dimensions together to continue to make something unique.”
