Samar Gupta has joined Spark Minda as Group CIO and Senior Vice President, where he will oversee the company’s information technology strategy and digital transformation initiatives across the group. In his new role based in Noida, Gupta will be responsible for aligning IT strategy with business objectives, developing short- and long-term technology roadmaps, and strengthening the group’s data-driven decision-making capabilities. His mandate also includes building the IT function as a benchmark within the industry while supporting business growth and digital transformation across the organization.
Before joining Spark Minda, Gupta served as Vice President and Head – Group IT at Anand Group from January 2022 to February 2026. In that role, he led information technology and digital transformation across the group’s network of companies. The Anand Group comprises 23 companies and approximately 20,000 employees, with annual revenue of around $2 billion.
Earlier in his career, Gupta held technology leadership roles across several multinational organizations. His professional experience includes positions at Microsoft, Stryker, Actis, Wipro, Capgemini and Concentrix, where he worked in areas such as IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, and digital operations.
Gupta was also the winner of the CII Digital Transformation Award 2025, presented by Confederation of Indian Industry for contributions in advancing digital transformation initiatives. Academically, Gupta is currently a PhD scholar at Indian Institute of Foreign Trade in New Delhi. He holds an MBA from Management Development Institute Gurgaon, a Master of Science in Engineering from Oklahoma State University in the United States, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunications from Nagpur University.
He is also an alumnus of Harvard University’s executive education program in Singapore. His research interests include artificial intelligence, large language models, blockchain, natural language processing, reverse traceability, and machine learning.
