    Mitsubishi Electric India Invites Applications from Students for Mitsubishi Electric Cup, Winner to Receive Rs 1 Lakh

    Mitsubishi Electric India has announced the launch of the 6th edition of the Mitsubishi Electric Cup (ME Cup), the company’s flagship engineering and technical competition. Applications have been invited from undergraduate and postgraduate students from engineering and technical backgrounds across the country. Interested students will have to apply industrial automation technologies to solve real-world problems.

    “This competition is about igniting innovation in the next generation of engineers,” said Dr. S Sriram, Division Head – Factory Automation Systems and Director, Mitsubishi Electric India. “India is rapidly moving towards smart manufacturing and digitalization, and the industry need engineers who can create intelligent, sustainable, and efficient systems. Mitsubishi Electric Cup helps students bridge classroom knowledge with practical applications.”

    Who Can Take Part in the Mitsubishi Electric Cup?

    The competition is open to diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate students, who are interseted to design, build, and demonstrate intelligent automation systems using Mitsubishi Electric’s Factory Automation (FA) products or CNC Components. Some of the important rules and regulations to be noted are as follows:

    • Each institute is allowed to submit a maximum of three proposals and each registration must be done separately with all the necessary documents.
    • Only institutes recognised by AICTE would be allowed to participate.
    • All applicants must be must be regular students of the current academic year, and part time or evening school students would not be allowed to participate.
    • All proposals will have to be submitted before 1 September 2025, and shortlisted teams will be announced on 26 September 2025.
    • Selected teams will receive FA components, and CNC Components on a returnable basis. In addotion to this, technical training to develop automation models will also be given to students.
    • Once the team is registered then alteration of team members will not be allowed.

    The winning team will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000, the runner-up team Rs 75,000, and the third-place team Rs 50,000. All participants will receive certificates of participation. In addition, this competition Winner of Competition will get an Opportunity to Enrol in MECA Global Competition, Japan, which will be held in September 2026.
