Industry Leaders Call for Inspiring Generation of Innovators in AI-Driven World on National STEM Day 2024

National STEM Day 2024 is being commemorated on 8 November 2024 with a focus on the powerful impact of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) on equipping students for the future. With this year’s theme, “Inspire Students with AI-Powered Innovation,” industry leaders and educators alike emphasize the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in transforming STEM education and preparing young minds to thrive in a technology-driven landscape.

Prasenjit Ghoshal, Head of Engineering at Ennoventure, Inc., highlighted AI’s potential as more than a mere tool. “As technology advances at an unprecedented pace, AI is transforming industries and creating pathways for innovation like never before. It’s more than a tool; AI is a bridge to boundless possibilities, empowering the younger generation to lead, create, and make a meaningful impact. This National STEM Day, with the theme ‘Inspire Students with AI-Powered Innovation,’ we highlight the crucial role of STEM education in equipping students to thrive in an AI-driven world,” he said.

“AI and STEM are more than academic pursuits—they are the keys to real-world problem-solving and societal progress. As the need for skilled innovators grows, early engagement in STEM education can lay the groundwork for lifelong curiosity, resilience, and critical thinking. By providing students with hands-on experiences in AI, we help them see its potential to tackle global challenges, from healthcare advancements to environmental sustainability,” Ghoshal added, urging the industry to support a more inclusive and forward-thinking society.

For Ennoventure, Inc., he said, fostering an environment where students can experiment and grow is central to its mission: “By inspiring curiosity and enabling creativity, we aim to open doors for tomorrow’s innovators, building a more inclusive and forward-thinking society. Together, let’s encourage the next generation of changemakers, creating a future where every child has the opportunity to imagine, innovate, and succeed. The future awaits—let’s empower them to reach it.”

Srinivas Shekar, CEO and Co-Founder of Pantherun Technologies, echoed these sentiments, reiterating the transformational role of AI across sectors. “In a world where technology is evolving at lightning speed, AI stands at the forefront, reshaping industries and redefining possibilities. From the way we learn to how we innovate, AI’s influence is everywhere. This National STEM Day, the theme ‘Full STEM Ahead: Inspire Students with AI-Powered Innovation,’ recognizes the vital role STEM education plays in preparing students for an AI-driven future,” he stated.

He further added: “STEM education fosters critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving—skills that are critical as AI continues to evolve. It encourages students to explore the intersections of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, giving them the tools to build and innovate in a rapidly changing world. With AI now integral to fields like healthcare, finance, and climate science, nurturing this foundation is more important than ever.”

Pantherun Technologies, Shekar says, believes in empowering this journey by creating an environment where curiosity meets capability. “By providing platforms that support hands-on learning and experimentation, we aim to inspire students to harness AI’s potential. Through initiatives and tools that encourage exploration, we are contributing to a future where young innovators are ready to lead the charge in AI-driven solutions. Let’s celebrate STEM’s role in shaping future-ready minds and continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible,” he opined.
