Ashwini Vaishnaw Uses Zoho Show for Presentations, Sources Maps from MapMyIndia

Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology, has reiterated his commitment to promoting homegrown technology products as part of the government’s Make in India vision. In a recent post on X, Vaishnaw shared details of his latest presentation, noting: “Swadeshi ka Sankalp! Presentation created using Zoho Show. Map sourced from Mappls by MapmyIndia.”

The announcement drew appreciation from Indian technology companies. Rohan Verma, Director at MapmyIndia, responded: “Thank you Ashwini Vaishnaw sir and the Ministry of Electronics & IT for using MapmyIndia Mappls maps. Everyone can learn and see how it is much better than the foreign big-tech, through the consumer Mappls app (about.mappls.com/app), inside any app or software through the Mappls APIs (about.mappls.com/api), and for any business, government, enterprise solution or IoT device (about.mappls.com).

We need a lot more awareness and word of mouth however to have our voice and solutions heard in comparison to the global big tech. Thank you all in advance for spreading the word and suggesting people try MapmyIndia Mappls in a sustained manner. We have been innovating for 30 years, building world-class solutions from before the foreign players, and in so many ways better than them too. We shall continue to work hard towards building the best maps and tech solutions and bringing innumerable benefits and value to everyone. Well done Rakesh Verma and the entire team of MapmyIndia, Mappls.”

The Minister extended his support to Zoho’s latest product as well. Referring to Arattai, Zoho’s indigenous messaging app, Vaishnaw remarked: “Exciting meeting with the Zoho team! They’re scaling up infrastructure to support Arattai’s growth. Happy to see our swadeshi products thriving and contributing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.”

By openly using and promoting domestic platforms like MapmyIndia’s Mappls and Zoho’s suite of products, Vaishnaw continues to reinforce the government’s emphasis on indigenous innovation and the importance of self-reliance in technology.
