Zoho Corporation has announced the acquisition of Kochi-based deep-tech startup Asimov Robotics. The move was made public by Jayakrishnan T, Founder and CEO, Asimov Robotics. “We are so grateful for the incredible support from Zoho corporation and their leadership team! This association has empowered us to explore new horizons and to become a global brand. I’m feeling incredibly motivated to stretch my limits for making this dream come true. Thank you for fostering such a positive and supportive environment,” he said.
The acquisition was officially announced on July 2 during the inauguration of Zoho’s new state-of-the-art Research and Development (R&D) campus in Kottarakkara, Kerala. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan. Zoho aims at strengthening its artificial intelligence and robotics capabilities, by integrating the team into its new R&D campus in Kottarakkara, Kerala.
Asimov Robotics is a notable provider of robotics manufacturing and distribution, which was started by Jayakrishnan T in the year 2012. The company gained popularity during COVID for its hospitality humanoid robot Sayabot V1, KARMI-Bot that was used for general logistics and Covid care and SEVA-Bot for intra hospital logistics. Another robot of the company, which made headlines was human look alike Chhaya robot that was touted as the Indian Sophia AI bot.
Asimov Robotics says that it is dedicated to address the growing demand for digital workforce transformation among companies and organizations. Its expertise lies in creating robotic twins with human like appearance and highly customizable robotic solutions for real-life problems while working with hazardous, unsafe, inefficient, and repetitive scenarios.
Asimov Robotics also work with robots for space missions, intra-hospital logistics and assistive robots for minimally invasive craniotomy and laparoscopic neurosurgery and have supplied their products to multiple state and central government organizations.
