MapmyIndia, a pioneer in digital mapping and location technology in India, has announced a major milestone in its mission to make navigation more accessible for Indians. The company revealed that its popular Mappls app will soon support navigation in 10 Indian languages, reflecting the country’s rich linguistic diversity. The announcement was made during a grand celebration marking 30 years of MapmyIndia. The event, held on 17 February at Pullman, Aerocity – New Delhi, featured a special concert by the iconic Sonu Nigam.

Rakesh Verma, Founder and Chairman of MapmyIndia, shared his reflections on the company’s journey during the event. “MapmyIndia represents a journey where conviction transformed into passion. Today, it is universally accepted that data inherently includes a location aspect. Beyond this, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the team members, employees, and clients who have been an integral part of this journey,” he said, acknowledging the unwavering support of the company’s stakeholders.

Verma highlighted the significance of the new language initiative, stating that the Mappls app was designed to serve the unique needs of India. “When we created the Mappls app, our vision was clear—a navigation app built for India. A country of diverse landscapes, languages, and cultures. Now, we take it a step further with navigation in 10 Indian languages: English, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam,” he announced.
The new feature is set to enhance accessibility and inclusivity for users across the country. MapmyIndia also emphasized the app’s India-friendly features such as Junction View, Safety Alerts, and Metaverse Maps, which have made navigation smarter and safer. The company’s motto, “Made in India for Indians by MapMyIndians,” Verma said, reflects its commitment to creating technology that resonates with the needs of the nation.
