The job market is in a constant mode of transformation due the advent of artificial intelligence. Jobs that were considered to be in demand over the past few years no longer exist today. A recent Indeed–Nasscom report, titled India’s AI Talent Inflection Point: From Skill Gaps to Competitive Advantage, has found that a large majority of employers (40%) prefer demonstrable AI skills or certifications for jobs over degrees, while another 32% give equal weight to skills, certifications and degrees.

The data shows that India’s opportunity lies not only in building AI talent, but in making AI readiness broader, more accessible and more aligned to real workplace needs. For job seekers, the message is clear: continuous learning, hands-on experience and the ability to work with AI will matter more in 2026.”

The report is based on Indeed platform data and survey responses from 1,215 employers and 2,593 employees across industries in India, conducted by Valuvox on behalf of Indeed. Some of the top certifications for jobs are as follows:
