Anjani Kumar has been appointed the Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO) at notable Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ather Energy. “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO) at Ather Energy,” said Anjani Kumar on his LinkedIN wall. Prior to joining Ather Energy, Kumar held the post of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Executive Vice President at Tata AIG General Insurance Company Limited.

Anjani Kumar is a distinguished business transformation leader with expertise in driving digital agendas for B2C, B2B, and hybrid global enterprises across various industries. Recognized by top industry analysts, Kumar has been credited with spearheading digital transformation initiatives in IT consulting, logistics, pharma, automobile, and telecom sectors, bringing an outside-in perspective to accelerate innovation and operational excellence.
With a comprehensive CXO-level experience, Kumar has successfully managed strategy and operations roles at organizations like Nissan, Strides, and Safexpress, alongside P&L responsibilities for products and services at IBM and Collabera. Before transitioning to corporate leadership roles, Kumar spent 14 years at IBM, including seven years in the US, where he played a pivotal role in establishing IBM’s Digital Business Unit in 2012 with P&L responsibilities. He also led the development of a captive digital center focused on capability building, re-skilling, talent acquisition, retention, and operational efficiency.
