In a significant leadership move, Union Bank of India has announced the appointment of Anil Kuril as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Head of the Data Protection Office (DPO). Kuril, a seasoned IT executive with over 25 years of experience, has been associated with the bank for the past 16 years, where he previously served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and.
Speaking about his new position, Anil Kuril expressed: “This transition marks a significant milestone in my journey—and a bold strategic shift for the bank. Union Bank of India is now the first in the Indian banking industry to formally elevate cybersecurity and data protection to the leadership level, aligning it alongside technology and digital transformation. I’m truly honored to lead this charge.”
