Bharti Airtel has been awarded a multi-year contract by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) for the Taxnet-2.0 program. This partnership was formalized through a Letter of Award handed over to Bharti Airtel by the CBDT, followed by a Letter of Acceptance from Bharti Airtel to the CBDT. The formal signing ceremony was graced by Sunil Bharti Mittal, Founder and Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, and Ravi Agarwal, Chairman of the CBDT.
Under this new contract, Bharti Airtel will serve as the network and connectivity partner for the CBDT, providing dual connectivity with Software Defined Network for Wide Area Network (SD-WAN), Secure Local Area Network (LAN), and other advanced technology solutions. These upgrades are part of the Taxnet-2.0 initiative, aimed at modernizing the systems for collection, processing, monitoring, and accounting of direct taxes in India.
Since 2008, Bharti Airtel has been the network partner for the CBDT’s Taxnet-1.0 program, playing a crucial role in the department’s technological advancements. The new Taxnet-2.0 contract marks a continuation and expansion of this successful partnership, promising enhanced efficiency and security for the country’s direct tax system.
