If recent leaks, collated from various sources, are to be believed, then Apple may be working on one of the largest updates for the iPhone Pro series that has been witnessed in several years. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are both said to be debuting at the Apple September Event later this year and are expected to feature significant changes in a number of areas including camera technology, battery performance, processor performance and overall appearance, as well as a much higher price point than previous releases, according to the leaks.
One of the main features that many customers will be eagerly waiting for is a smaller Dynamic Island, which indicates Apple is still looking to maximize the amount of usable display area on these devices. The Pro series will still keep their 6.3’’ and 6.9’’ screens, but will reportedly be more vibrant and provide a more immersive viewing experience than previous generations. On the camera side, Apple is expected to be going all-in on professional photography. Leaks suggest a triple 48MP rear camera setup with 48MP primary sensor, 48MP ultra-wide lens and 48MP telephoto lens with variable aperture tech, which could be a big boost to low-light photography and depth control. The front camera is also likely to get an upgrade to 24MP.

It’s said that the new products will be equipped with Apple’s next-generation A20 Pro chip. Built on an advanced 2 nm process, this new chip is said to be faster and more efficient. The chip is said to run with Apple’s new C2 modem and an additional N2 processor bringing superior connectivity and on-device AI capabilities.
While none of these features have been confirmed or denied by Apple, this generation of devices could also feature a major improvement in battery performance. Leak reports suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro Max may possess a 5,000 mAh battery. This battery would be one of the largest to make its way into an iPhone. Apple is also said to be introducing 5G satellite connectivity, extending their emergency and off-grid communication features.
Design-wise, Apple is expected to stick to a premium metal body, while introducing new colours including Light Blue, Silver, Dark Grey, Dark Cherry, and other reported shades such as Burgundy, Brown and Purple.
Prices for this device will probably be an issue as analysts anticipate the iPhone 18 Pro will be beginning priced around $1,099, but possibly as high as $1,199 for Pro Max. Speculations also suggest that supply chain pressures, particularly high memory prices, may drive those prices higher than they historically have. Apple is expected to announce this new generation of phones sometime in September (2026) and will take pre-orders immediately after the event. Consumers may expect the phone to start shipping at the end of that same month.
