    At the Acronis Partner Summit India 2024, Sanszkar Sharma, CEO of SoftZaar Digital, spoke to Tech Achieve Media about the company’s journey and partnership with Acronis. SoftZaar, a cybersecurity solutions provider, caters to a diverse customer base, ranging from enterprise clients to individual consumers.

    Discussing their recent initiatives, Sharma highlighted SoftZaar’s foray into selling Acronis True Image, a consumer-focused product, on Amazon India. This marks the beginning of an exciting partnership with Acronis, and Sharma expressed optimism about building a fruitful and long-term collaboration.

    TAM: Could you tell us about your partnership with Acronis?

    Sanszkar Sharma: It’s been a long journey, taking almost two years to reach this stage with Acronis. During this time, they’ve undergone significant changes, including updates to their product. Finally, in October, we officially launched Acronis True Image on Amazon India. This milestone required immense effort, including initiating our marketing campaigns on Amazon. We’ve also tailored the pricing to be much more competitive for the Indian market compared to international pricing.

    The goal is to promote the importance of backup and personal data protection to everyday customers. With the ever-increasing creation of digital data, it’s crucial to ensure users have access to reliable backup solutions. By introducing Acronis True Image, we aim to provide customers with Acronis’ cutting-edge technology while strengthening the brand’s reputation as a leader in backup and cybersecurity.

    TAM: How has Acronis True Image evolved to address the growing demand for data protection in the personal user segment?

    Sanszkar Sharma: In the personal user segment, data storage has evolved significantly over the decades. Years ago, data might have been saved on floppy disks. Later, it transitioned to SSDs and external hard drives, and now, much of it resides in the cloud. However, one thing has remained constant: the need to back up that data. This is where Acronis comes into the picture. Acronis has continuously evolved its product to meet the changing needs of customers. Their technology has adapted to support various forms of backup across different types of media, ensuring users have a reliable solution no matter where their data is stored.

    Beyond being an all-in-one backup solution, Acronis has also integrated anti-ransomware technologies to address the growing threat of cyberattacks in the consumer market. This commitment to innovation and security is what keeps Acronis relevant and trusted in today’s ever-changing digital landscape.

    TAM: What is the competitive advantage that Acronis offers?

    Sanszkar Sharma: Building on my earlier point, what makes Acronis products unique is that, in addition to providing reliable backup solutions, they also offer advanced anti-ransomware and anti-malware protection—features that set them apart from competitors. Platforms like Google Workspace, Google Drive, or OneDrive focus solely on storing your data, but they don’t protect it from malware, viruses, or ransomware attacks. Acronis, however, does both: it safeguards your data and your endpoints, such as laptops.

    Additionally, Acronis provides unlimited backups for mobile devices, allowing users to back up multiple phones seamlessly. This makes it a comprehensive, all-in-one solution for personal data protection. I am confident that once a customer tries Acronis, they will continue using it year after year. The product’s exceptional performance and retention capabilities speak for themselves.

    TAM: How do you envision future growth of your company along with Acronis?

    Sanszkar Sharma: Currently, our primary focus is on targeting end users, specifically personal customers. However, our long-term goal is to expand our relationship with Acronis by offering their products to enterprise customers, which represents a significant and vital market for both us and Acronis. In the short term, we aim to grow and strengthen our personal user base. Over time, we plan to broaden our reach to corporate and enterprise clients, ensuring they also benefit from Acronis’s innovative solutions. As Acronis continues to evolve its technology, we look forward to evolving alongside them, delivering the same advanced capabilities to all our customers.
