In an exclusive interview with Tech Achieve Media, Jamwal had outlined TiDB’s vision for the India market: “India is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world and is on track to achieve a $1 trillion digital economy by 2030. It is leading the charge in digital infrastructure and innovation, outpacing many developed economies. India is a promising market for TiDB. With a highly skilled talent pool and rapid digitization among Indian enterprises, we aim for five-fold growth within the next three years. We are also expanding our team in India while continuing to support the developer community through our initiatives and programs,” he stated.
Highlighting TiDB’s contributions to the Indian tech ecosystem, Jamwal added: “We are actively involved in addressing traditional database challenges and promoting distributed SQL systems like TiDB. Through our initiative, PingCAP University, we offer courses and certifications to enhance skills in managing distributed SQL databases. This helps developers and IT professionals understand TiDB’s capabilities in large-scale data scenarios. Our workshops, training sessions, and hackathons further engage the local IT community, fostering innovation and local talent development.” Jamwal has been associated with TiDB for the past four years and has a proven track record in the industry.
