MediaTek, at its flagship MediaTek India Dimensity Summit held in New Delhi, announced that OPPO Reno14 Pro will be the first smartphone in India to be powered by the MediaTek. The collaboration aims to redefine user experiences with unparalleled performance, energy efficiency, and AI-powered capabilities. Anuj Sidharth, Director of Marketing and Communication at MediaTek, introduced the chipset, emphasizing its transformative potential in mobile technology. He stated, “The Dimensity 8450 is designed to push the boundaries of what a smartphone can achieve, from AI innovations to exceptional power management.”
Savio D’Souza, Head of Product Communications at OPPO India, elaborated on the partnership. “MediaTek has been a longstanding collaborator, helping us deliver cutting-edge technologies in camera, AI productivity, and battery life. The OPPO Reno14 Pro exemplifies this synergy, offering a blend of style and substance tailored to Indian consumers,” he said.
How MediaTek Dimensity 8450 Will Power OPPO Reno14 Pro?
The MediaTek Dimensity 8450 introduces several advanced features:
- The dedicated NPU-AKM generative AI engine enhances performance by 54% while boosting energy efficiency by up to 80%. Tasks like meeting summarizations, real-time translations, and enhanced productivity are seamlessly handled.
- Leveraging OPPO’s photography credentials, the Reno14 Pro integrates 4K HLG support for cinematic visuals, powered by advanced stabilization and the chipset’s processing capabilities.
- With the Mali G720 GPU, users experience a 42% reduction in power usage and a 24% improvement in performance, ensuring smooth gaming with AI Hyperboost technology maintaining frame stability and temperature control.
- Supporting LPDDR5X RAM and Wi-Fi 6G, the device ensures lightning-fast data transfers and smooth multitasking.
OPPO’s proprietary Trinity Engine complements the chipset by learning user behavior to anticipate power needs and deliver sustained performance. Even during intensive tasks like 4K video editing and gaming, the system ensures efficiency without compromising on speed or battery life. The OPPO Reno14 Pro is expected to be launched in India soon, and is likely to cost around Rs 41,000.
