Qualcomm has announced its first global Edge AI Developer Hackathon series on 14 and 15 June 2025 at the Qualcomm Bengaluru campus. The hackathon aims at fostering collaboration, learning, and breakthrough thinking, says the company. The competition is open to engineers, students, and young Indian developers. Those selected will have to build, test, and showcase cutting-edge AI applications on next-generation platforms.

The company has stated that winners of the hackathon will receive Snapdragon-powered ASUS PCs, be featured on Qualcomm’s developer blog, and appear in a Discord livestream spotlight. In addition to the main prizes, the Popularization Award includes a POCO F6 Deadpool Edition smartphone and digital exposure across Qualcomm platforms.
Who Can Take Part in the Qualcomm Hackathon?
The event aims at developing cutting-edge on-device AI. Each team of up to five developers will receive one Copilot+ PC with the Snapdragon X Elite to develop a GenAI during the hackathon. Some of the rules and regulations to take part in the event are as follows:
- Participants need to be at least 18 years of age at the time of registration.
- The hackathon is open to both individuals and teams of up to four members.
- Participants will have to be citizens of India.
- Those who have participated in the Edge AI Developer Hackathon series in other cities would not be allowed to participate.
- Participants associated with any government agencies or state-owned entities would not be allowed to take part.
- Only one project submission per person or per group would be allowed.
- Only registered participants would be allowed to submit a project for evaluation at the end of the hackathon.
Two teams or individuals will be awarded prizes towards the end of the hackathon. While one will be selected by judges, the popularisation award will be voted for by all participating teams. Those who wish to participate are advised to visit the official website for further details.
