In a key leadership transition aligned with its long-term growth ambitions, DTDC Express Limited has appointed Rishi Sareen as its Chief Operations Officer (COO). Sareen, who previously served as Chief Information Officer at DTDC, steps into the new role with over 25 years of experience spanning technology, supply chain, and logistics. His elevation reflects the company’s strategic intent to integrate technology-led innovation with operational scale in a rapidly evolving logistics landscape.

He added that the company’s priorities remain firmly anchored on execution discipline, agility at scale, and a data-driven operating model. “As we accelerate towards Vision 2030, the focus is clear: driving execution discipline, building agility at scale, and delivering sustained long-term value through an integrated, data-led operating model that elevates customer experience and performance,” he said.
Expressing gratitude to the leadership, Sareen acknowledged Chairman and Managing Director Subhasish Chakrabortyand Abhishek Chakraborty for their continued trust. He also extended appreciation to his technology team and colleagues across the organisation for their support during his tenure as CIO.

In his new role, Sareen will lead enterprise-wide operations, aligning network design, operating models, and execution architecture to strengthen DTDC’s competitive positioning. His mandate includes reimagining the supply chain by integrating first, mid, and last-mile operations into a unified and agile network, while driving data-led decision-making to improve service reliability, optimise costs, and enhance margins.
He is also expected to institutionalise governance frameworks and performance-driven operating discipline to build a high-performance culture capable of scaling with the company’s growth.
Sareen’s professional journey has been marked by leadership roles across leading organisations, including Accenture, where he served as Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer for Supply Chain, and Ecom Express Limited, where he led technology transformation initiatives. He also spent nearly two decades at Blue Dart Express Limited, rising through the ranks to head IT and information security functions.
Known for driving digital transformation, enterprise architecture, and process optimisation, Sareen has led several large-scale technology implementations across logistics ecosystems, often within tight timelines and budget constraints. His work has earned him multiple industry recognitions, including Innovation Champion, Best Cloud Implementation, Transformational Icon 2021, Artificial Intelligence Icon 2020, and CIO of the Year 2019.
Colleagues describe him as a solution-oriented leader with a strong focus on execution and team development. Over the years, he has built and mentored cross-functional teams, driving company-wide digitalisation initiatives and embedding data-driven practices into business processes.
With this appointment, DTDC is expected to further strengthen the integration between its technology backbone and operational capabilities, positioning itself to respond to increasing demand for speed, efficiency, and reliability in India’s logistics sector. “The next phase begins now. Onwards and upwards,” Sareen said, signalling the company’s intent to scale new heights in the years ahead.
