Progressive Channels Association of Information Technology (PCAIT) is a thriving community of professionals who are adept in managerial, technical and entrepreneurial skills. With the motto “Work together, Build together and Progress together”, the aim and objective of PCAIT is to promote and protect the interests of members who may be suppliers, dealers, traders, exporters and importers dealing in all kinds of Information Technology. PCAIT was formed in May 2004 by a group of 15 people who were heading organisations.

The individuals in question came together after realising that there was a dire necessity to crystallize the immense human and material resources of the IT industry, especially the Channel, for the common national and global benefit. PCAIT was registered as a society on 9 March 2005. PCAIT members consist of channel partners, companies engaged in IT and IT enabled services as well as IT Media. The association basically aims at being for the IT Channels industry what CII is and NASSCOM is to the industry.
Main Objectives of PCAIT
The society aims to support and defend the interests of its members engaged in the Information Technology industry, including suppliers, dealers, traders, exporters, and importers. It strives to promote and protect the IT sector, encourage ethical conduct, and discourage unethical practices. Additionally, it guides business activities related to manufacturing, import, export, and sale of IT products. The society may also acquire assets or liabilities from similar organizations, registered or unregistered. Some of the main objectives of the community is as follows:
- To bring the IT community under a single platform.
- To interface with other associations.
- To settle disputes among members if any.
- To promote ethical, legal business practices.
- To work for the betterment of the members and their businesses.
- To organise seminars, workshops and trade shows for the growth of the IT industry.
- To conduct events and celebrations.
- To interface with government bodies.
- To have an IT plaza.
- To interface with NGOs, charitable organizations, and societies to promote and support IT literacy and dissemination.
