Anjali Birla, who earlier held the position of associate vice president of customer strategy and intelligence at Air India Limited, has now been promoted to Vice President – CX Strategy and Intelligence at the organisation. With over 14 years of experience within the Tata Group, Birla’s professional journey spans diverse roles across companies like Vistara, Titan, Tata Motors, Tata Communications, Tata Trusts, and Tata Teleservices. A Tata Administrative Services (TAS) Officer, she has gained cross-functional exposure in areas ranging from brand marketing and international operations to strategic government initiatives.

At Titan Industries, Birla played a pertinent role in designing a business plan aimed at developing a skilled workforce to perform optometry-related roles with significantly reduced time and cost. The initiative emphasized self-reliance and education for underprivileged communities, earning immediate approval from the Managing Director for implementation. She created the Titan Eye+ educational module to ensure the personnel met world-class standards, successfully negotiating partnerships with top universities, including Amity University (Manesar) and ITM Institute of Health Sciences (Bangalore).
The program’s first batch, comprising 30 underprivileged students recruited through rural marketing and NGO networks, was selected from 145 applicants. The initiative garnered widespread appreciation, with coverage in various newspapers and CSR journals.
During her tenure at Vistara, Birla spearheaded the establishment of the airline’s international operations from the CEO’s office. Prior to this, she led the Brand and Marketing Communication vertical, contributing to Vistara’s positioning as a preferred travel brand in the Indian market.
Her work with the Planning Commission initiative, India Backbone Implementation Network (IbIn), further expanded her expertise. In this role, Birla collaborated with global leaders, government departments, multilateral agencies, and industry associations on projects addressing national priorities, including manufacturing, urbanization, and industrial relations
