Varun Kumar Sharma has joined Redington Limited as Practice Head – Cybersecurity and Network, where he will lead the cybersecurity and network practice under the company’s CISS (Cloud, Infra, Software & Security) business. In his new role, Sharma will focus on building the cybersecurity and network services practice and supporting partners and customers across India, APAC and the Middle East. Sharing the appointment, Sharma said his priorities will include building a differentiated cybersecurity and network services practice, enabling partners with capabilities and scaling business outcomes across the three regions. “Cybersecurity and network modernisation sit at the centre of every digital agenda today, from Zero Trust adoption to secure connectivity at scale,” Sharma said.

He added that his focus will be on “enabling partners with capability, not just capacity” while expanding the practice across the markets. Sharma brings close to two decades of experience spanning cybersecurity, enterprise networking, cloud, infrastructure, managed services and technical solutions. Before joining Redington, he held the position of Practice Head Cybersecurity at Vodafone Idea, according to his professional profile. He has also served as Practice Lead – Cyber Security at Tech Mahindra, where he was based in Sydney.
His earlier experience includes more than five years as Head of Technical Services at Brightstar Telecommunication India, where he led technical pre-sales and post-sales for enterprise solutions covering networking, cloud, Wi-Fi, security, servers, storage, SD-WAN, VDI and other infrastructure technologies. Sharma also spent over eight years with Bharti Airtel as Regional Head – Business Solution Architect – North. His responsibilities included designing complex ICT solutions for enterprise and government customers, managing large RFPs and bids, and working across data, cloud, data centre and managed services. In the beginning of his career, he used to work with Wipro Infotech, working on network design, implementation and troubleshooting, data centre infrastructure and Cisco-based networks. At Redington, Sharma is expected to work closely with partners and OEMs as the company looks to strengthen its cybersecurity and network capabilities across key growth markets.
