DRDO internship 2026 has been announced at Defence Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences(DIPAS, including research cell DIBER, Haldwani. DIPAS is currently offering internships to final year students as part of the internship scheme introduced by Government of India. The opportunity is open to final year students pursing BE, BTech, ME, or MTech in the academic year 2026 to 2027. Selected students will receive a stipend of Rs 30,000.

Who Can Apply for DRDO Internship 2026?
The official notification mentions that the students who are going to the final year BE, BTech, ME, or MTech in the academic year 2026-2027 can apply for the internship. The following streams would be eligible for the opportunity:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Computer Science Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
There are 8 vacancies at present, and students with backlogs will not be eligible to apply. The duration of the paid internship will be for six months, and is expected to start from 1 July 2026 tentatively. The notification also mentions that the stipend of total Rs. 30,000 will be paid in two instalments, which is Rs 15,000 after completion of 3 months and Rs 15,000 after completion of 6 months. Students also need to note that this payment would be subject to attendance of minimum 15 days in a month.

Also, any student who does not complete the 6 months internship will not be awarded the internship certificate. It is also worth noting that completion of the internship period does not guarantee employment with DRDO. Selected students will have to take care of their own lodging and stay during the course of the internship as it will not be provided by the centre.

How to Apply for DRDO Internship 2026?
Interested students will have to submit applications in the prescribed format before 15 May 2026 to The Director, Defence Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences, Defence Research and Development Organization, Government of India, Ministry of Defence, Lucknow Road, Timarpur, Delhi 110054. The envelope must mention “Application for Paid Internship with Discipline” for which the candidate is applying. DRDO mentions that incomplete, erroneous, illegible and application received after due date will not be considered.
