The theme for the 10th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC 2026), “Scale Without Boundaries,” was unveiled in the national capital, positioning the flagship technology event as a global platform for innovation, collaboration and digital transformation. The theme was launched in the presence of Jyotiraditya M Scindia, Minister of Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Dr Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, Amit Agrawal, Secretary, Department of Telecommunications (DoT), and Rahul Vatts, Chairman, Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), along with industry leaders, startups, policymakers and members of the media.

The organisers said IMC 2026 will be built around four key pillars, which are Srishti (Building the Future), Suraksha (Strengthening Trust), Sashakt (Expanding Opportunities), and Samvardhan (Fueling Growth), thus reflecting India’s ambition to scale innovation while fostering secure, inclusive and sustainable digital growth.
Speaking at the launch, Rahul Vatts, Chairman, COAI, said the India Mobile Congress has evolved into a global technology platform over the past decade. “IMC is no longer just an industry event; it has really become India’s technology platform. A unique forum where policy, industry and innovation come together,” he said. Highlighting the growth of the event, Vatts said the inaugural edition attracted around 32,000 visitors and 100 exhibitors, while the 10th edition is expected to witness nearly 1.5 lakh participants, over 300 exhibitors and partners, and showcase more than 1,500 technology use cases spanning 5G, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, satellite communications, quantum computing, cybersecurity and enterprise transformation. He also noted that IMC has evolved from a platform where India learnt from the world to one where “the world now comes to see what India is really doing.”
Addressing the gathering, Amit Agrawal, Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, said the theme reflects India’s growing role in shaping global technology. “This time we are going with a much larger theme which fits such growth. India, the Indian industry and India’s contribution to the world is becoming increasingly influential globally,” he said.
Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, highlighted India’s telecom achievements over the past decade, including nationwide 4G connectivity, widespread 5G rollout, indigenous telecom technologies and ongoing efforts to strengthen broadband infrastructure through initiatives such as BharatNet. He said the event provides a platform for collaboration among government, industry, startups, researchers and investors, while emphasising the need to showcase practical and deployable innovations that can inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Delivering the keynote address, Jyotiraditya Scindia said the theme “Scale Without Boundaries” reflects India’s ambition to take its technologies, innovations and digital capabilities to the global stage. He said India’s telecom journey has been built on the principles of democratising technology and ensuring that its benefits reach every citizen. According to him, the next phase of growth will focus on taking Indian innovations beyond national borders while continuing to expand digital inclusion at home.
Scindia also outlined the significance of the four pillars of IMC 2026. Srishti will focus on innovation and next-generation technologies, including India’s ambitions in 6G. Sashakt aims to create new opportunities for startups, MSMEs and entrepreneurs. Samvardhan will highlight manufacturing and ecosystem development, while Suraksha will focus on strengthening digital trust, cybersecurity and consumer protection.
The minister said the telecom sector has evolved from connecting people through 2G and enabling information access with 3G to creating a digital economy with 4G and enterprise transformation through 5G. Looking ahead, he said 6G is expected to integrate physical, digital and intelligent systems into a seamless ecosystem. The 10th edition of IMC is expected to bring together policymakers, telecom operators, technology companies, startups, investors and researchers from across the world, reinforcing India’s position as a key player in the global digital ecosystem.
