Raising Awareness on Data Resilience on this Cybersecurity Awareness Month

Sandeep Bhambure highlighted the growing complexity of cyber threats, emphasizing the importance of a resilient approach that anticipates and mitigates potential breaches. “In today’s fast-changing cybersecurity landscape, the critical role of data resiliency is more vital than ever. As cyber threats like ransomware continue to grow, it’s essential for businesses to take a proactive stance in making sure their data is not only protected but made resilient. This means going beyond cyber protection to include swift recovery and continuity and to plan for the assumption of a breach,” he said.

Encouraging organizations to adopt a comprehensive approach, Bhambure highlighted that true resilience goes beyond defense, extending to recovery. “This Cybersecurity Awareness Month, we encourage everyone to focus not only on achieving secure cyber resilience, but also take a data resilience approach that includes ransomware mitigation strategies. As businesses have learned, it’s not enough to keep attackers out. True data resilience means that even after a successful attack, businesses still have access to their data whenever and wherever they need it. At Veeam, we support a comprehensive zero trust data resilience strategy that ensures that no matter the disruption, businesses have the resilience to keep on running,” he added.

Protecting Digital Spaces a Shared Responsibility

Adding to the dialogue, Anant Deshpande stressed the collective responsibility of safeguarding digital spaces. “As we celebrate Cybersecurity Awareness Month, it’s essential to remember that protecting our digital spaces is a shared responsibility. In India, the swift integration of technology into our daily lives has brought remarkable benefits, but it also introduces new vulnerabilities. Deshpande noted that advancing technologies, especially quantum computing, require organizations to rethink their cybersecurity frameworks. “Digital trust is critical in our interconnected world, founded on strong security practices like encryption and robust authentication. As we approach the quantum computing era, it’s vital for organizations to include quantum readiness in their cybersecurity strategies. While quantum technologies present unique challenges, proactive planning can help mitigate potential risks. Let’s commit to creating a culture of security, where we not only safeguard our own information but also assist others in navigating the complexities of the digital landscape. Together, we can cultivate a resilient ecosystem that embraces innovation while prioritizing security. This October, let’s enhance our awareness, fortify our defenses, and strive for a safer digital future for everyone. Your vigilance today can lead to a more secure tomorrow” added Deshpande.
