Shankar Jayaraman has announced that he has decided to move on as the Chief Security Officer and Vice President Development at Akasa Air to start his own startup venture. Jayaraman, announcing his latest move on LinkedIN, said: “Stepping into the aviation industry, which was completely new to me when I started, was an incredible opportunity. How many people get the chance, at such an early stage of an airline, to build systems, infrastructure, and security programs from the ground up? Although my tenure at Akasa Airlines was just shy of two years, it has been a lifetime experience filled with opportunities.”
He also thanked Anand Srinivasan, Cofounder and Chief Information Officer at Akasa Air for his unwavering mentorship and guidance throughout as well as to the leadership team, peers, and direct reports for their support. “I have no doubt that Akasa will achieve even greater heights. Wishing them all continued success and growth,” he added.

Jayaraman, who was associated with Akasa Air for one year and ten months, has been in the industry for nearly three decades and has worked in leadership roles across several notable companies such as Sophos, VMware, Intel Security, Symantec, McAfee and Tech Mahindra. In his post, he also shared that he is now the Cofounder of a new startup venture.
“Now, I am thrilled to share that I am embarking on a new venture—a startup dedicated to developing an AI-driven cybersecurity platform. We are laser-focused on building our product and advancing our startup from stealth mode to the forefront of the industry. As the saying goes – It takes a village to start and build a business,” he added.
