    CRED Announces AI Hackathon for Indian Engineers, Winner to Get Rs 50 Lakhs

    Reward-based credit card payments app CRED has launched an AI hackathon, CRED Rabbit Hole Challenge, for talented engineers across the country. The event is being conducted in partnership with Yotta and AWS, and will be held over a period of three days from 4 to 6 April 2025 in Bengaluru. 

    With AI, we’re witnessing a transformation as profound as the introduction of electricity,” said Kunal Shah, founder, CRED. “Through CRED Rabbit Hole Challenge, we’re kickstarting a movement that encourages India’s best engineers to take the ‘red pill’ and dive deep into the transformative world of AI. The world will fundamentally change before and after AI, and we want to be at the forefront of defining what comes next.”

    A statement from the company said that the hackathon will be a unique opportunity to develop their ideas, with access to cutting-edge AI technologies and resources including isolated environments and credits by AWS, along with dedicated code repositories, security review support, and GitHub integration by CRED.

    Eligibility to Apply for CRED Rabbit Hole Challenge

    To apply for the challenge, prospective engineers need to have the following qualifications:

    • Prospective participants must be at least 18 years old.
    • Engineers need to have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in building software applications and platforms.
    • Applicants must be residents of India with the required government-issued documents.
    • The competition is not open for employees, consultants, directors and officers at CRED, AWS and Yotta.

    CRED AI experts will shortlist up to 50 exceptional engineers based on their applications.CRED will cover travel and accommodation for selected participants. The three-day hackathon will conclude with the announcement of a single winner, who will take home a substantial cash prize of Rs. 50 lakh. Shortlisted participants will be mentored by experts and CRED leaders and given a set of problem statements to choose from, focused on real-world applications of AI. 

    In addition to this, AI Innovation Partner YOTTA will provide exceptional support to the shortlisted engineers. The company will grant access to  more than 3,000 hours of  NVIDIA H100 GPUs via its Shakti Cloud platform equipping participants with state-of-the-art technology to drive innovation. Furthermore, YOTTA will also offer a lucrative pool of Shakti Cloud credits to the top 3 engineers for their projects and make significant strides in areas of their expertise as part of their accelerator program. Interested engineers are advised to go through the official website for more information.
