    Positioning Bharat as a Tech Product Nation: STPI

    The Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) is celebrating its 33rd Foundation Day at Ashoka Hotel in New Delhi. STPI is hosting talks from several experts from the technology industry on the theme ‘Positioning Bharat as a Tech Product Nation’. S Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and other notable dignitaries from both the Indian Government as well as the industry have graced the occasion. 

    Arvind Kumar, Director General of the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), welcomed the dignitaries at the 33rd Foundation Day celebrations of the STPI. He highlighted the organization’s achievements in nurturing the tech startup ecosystem and the Information Technology (IT) and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITeS) industry over the past three decades. Additionally, he emphasized the upcoming initiatives of the organization.

    S Krishnan, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, unveiled a knowledge report titled “Cutting-Edge Tech Forging India as a Software Product Nation,” compiled by STPI officials. This report will serve as a tool for transforming India into a new hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, says STPI.

    Vishal Dhupar, managing director, Nvidia South Asia, graced the occasion and said: “We are in the midst of the next industrial revolution. Artificial intelligence intends to solve humanity’s largest problem called perception. The day is not far off when digital assistance will replace your mobile.”  

    STPI Organises Expert Speak Session

    Dr. Sunil Shekhawat, co-founder and CEO of SanchiConnect, stated in his Expert Speak session that 63% of startup founders come from Tier-II and Tier-III cities. This indicates the latent potential that these emerging cities possess within the startup community. 

    Saumya Singh Rathore, co-founder of Winzo, in her Expert Speak Session stated: “No one can stop India from becoming a tech product nation. At Winzo, we have patented 25 products under the guidance of STPI. We are among the world’s largest women-led tech gaming companies.”

    Several technology leaders highlighted that the design mindset needs to be inculcated in school students. Meenakshi Vashisht, founder and CEO of TekUncorked, emphasized that a design mindset for creating products should be nurtured among students starting from their school curriculum to make India a product nation.

    Tejas Goenka, managing director of Tally Solutions, who was also in attendance at the event, said: ”Software products can have a tremendous impact on the last mile in providing quality health and education services. We must strive to cultivate the right ambition, skill set, and attitude in our talent pool.”

    Sunil Gupta, cofounder, managing director and CEO, Yotta Yotta Data Services Private Limited, spoke about how Yotta was aiming to become India’s own sovereign cloud.

    MoU Signed

    During the celebration of STPI’s 33rd Foundation Day, two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were also exchanged. The first MoU, between STPINEXT Initiatives and DBS Bank India Pvt. Ltd., aims to strengthen the nation’s tech startup ecosystem. The second MoU, between STPI and the Sabudh Foundation, focuses on building a skilling and training ecosystem in DeepTech for engineering graduates.
