QNu Labs, a full-stack sovereign quantum cybersecurity company incubated at IIT Madras Research Park and backed by the National Quantum Mission (NQM), has partnered with SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) to train and certify its first cohort of faculty members to deliver professional courses in Quantum Communication. As part of the collaboration, the company has also established a dedicated Quantum Communications Lab at SRMIST. The facility is equipped with industry-grade quantum-safe products, enabling students and researchers to gain hands-on experience with technologies used in sectors such as defence and banking.
According to the company, the initiative is aimed at strengthening India’s quantum talent pipeline by focusing on faculty development alongside student training. By certifying educators, the programme is expected to enable universities to expand quantum education and train a larger number of professionals in the years ahead. The Quantum Communications Lab will support teaching, research and innovation by providing access to commercial quantum-safe hardware rather than simulation-based learning environments. The initiative is aligned with the objectives of the National Quantum Mission, which seeks to build indigenous quantum technologies while strengthening the country’s research and skilling ecosystem.

The milestone was marked in the presence of Dr JBV Reddy, Head of the Quantum Technology Cell, National Quantum Mission, along with leadership from T-Hub, SRMIST Vice Chancellor Dr Venkata Chalapathy B and faculty members. Also present were Sunil Gupta, CEO and Co-founder, QNu Labs, Sunil Bhide, Head of QNu Academy, and other senior representatives from QNu Labs.
