Raj Upadhyay Appointed Vice President and Head of Technology Infrastructure at Coforge

Coforge has appointed Raj Upadhyay as Vice President and Head of Technology Infrastructure. Based in Noida, Upadhyay has joined the company in a full-time leadership role and will focus on strengthening technology infrastructure, driving innovation-led transformation, and building resilient and future-ready enterprise environments. Announcing the development, Upadhyay shared that the new role presents an opportunity to contribute towards innovation, strengthen technology foundations, and collaborate with teams to deliver impactful outcomes at Coforge.

Upadhyay brings more than 25 years of experience across large global enterprises including IBM, HP, HCLTech, Genpact and EXL. Over the years, he has worked extensively across infrastructure, cloud, telecom, regulatory environments, contact centre ecosystems, enterprise architecture, cyber resilience, AI-led transformation, and large-scale IT modernisation programmes.

Prior to joining Coforge, he served as Vice President of Technology at EXL. Earlier, he spent over six years at Genpact in multiple leadership capacities, including Vice President Information Technology, Assistant Vice President, AVP – Enterprise Architecture Team, and Senior Manager – IT. During his tenure, he led large-scale global infrastructure and telecom programmes, enterprise architecture initiatives, technology rollouts, and cost optimisation projects across multiple geographies.

He was also associated with UnitedHealth Group as Associate Director IT, where he worked on IT infrastructure design and enterprise technology operations.

Throughout his career, Upadhyay has specialised in transforming complex legacy environments into agile, scalable, and secure digital ecosystems. His expertise includes institutionalising AI and automation into operating models to improve operational throughput, resilience, customer experience, and measurable business outcomes. A significant part of his work has focused on cyber resilience execution, including leading end-to-end implementation of Cyber Isolated Recovery Environments (IRE) for IT and ITES organisations. This included handling the complete lifecycle covering business impact analysis, solution design, implementation, testing, and dry runs.

He has also been actively involved in AI and product strategy initiatives, partnering with enterprises and startups to develop AI-driven products and solutions aimed at workload optimisation and operational efficiency. His experience combines deep infrastructure understanding with strategic transformation planning, enabling organisations to align technology investments with long-term business growth objectives.

During his earlier tenure at Genpact, Upadhyay was responsible for leading network and telecom projects across 47 delivery locations in 17 countries. His responsibilities included project planning, stakeholder management, vendor selection, solution design, budgeting, implementation oversight, and delivery of large-scale IT programmes globally. Known for bringing operational experience and customer-centric insights into technology decision-making, Upadhyay has worked closely with leadership teams, governance forums, founders, and executive stakeholders to help organisations strengthen resilience, modernise infrastructure, and unlock digital transformation opportunities.
