Raina previously served as the Interim managing director of Lava International in 2023 and was later named Whole-Time Director. Known for his strategic vision and dynamic leadership, he has been instrumental in driving Lava’s growth trajectory. In his previous capacity as President and Business Head, Raina spearheaded the introduction of innovative product lines like the Lava Agni, Blaze, and Yuva series in 2021, which significantly enhanced the brand’s market presence and customer loyalty. His leadership has solidified Lava’s status as one of India’s fastest-growing smartphone brands, furthering the company’s commitment to “Make in India.”
With over two decades of experience, Raina brings a wealth of knowledge in marketing strategy, product development, sales, and distribution. Prior to joining Lava, he held key roles at telecom giants like Tata Teleservices, Airtel, Reliance Communications, and Uninor. At present, Lava International Limited leads amongst all Indian mobile brands and has captured a market share of 2–3%, followed by Micromax, Karbonn, Intex, and Xolo, which all have less 1% market share.
The company recently celebrated its anniversary, marking its 16 years of operation in the country. “16 years ago, Lava took a leap of faith driven by a simple belief: technology could empower lives. Today, as we celebrate our 16th anniversary, I’m humbled by how far we’ve come and how much we’ve overcome. Resilience has been our backbone. While many peers faded away, we reinvented ourselves, time and again, adapting to storms, rethinking strategies, and doubling down on what matters most. It wasn’t easy, but every challenge taught us something new about grit, about staying in the race, and about the strength of standing together as a team. But beyond all that, we’ve carried a bigger dream: to build a global brand born in India,” Raina had shared on the occasion.
