How Uneecops Helped Select CityWalk Streamline Its Processes Through SAP Business One

Select CityWalk is a popular mall in New Delhi, which emerged between 2004 and 2007, and became operational on the 12th of October 2007. Developed by Select Infrastructure, a joint venture between the Select group and the Aarone Group, Select CityWalk is spread over three broad zones, and has eight anchor tenants and over 180 stores representing over 500 major Indian and international brands of clothes. According to the Shopping Centres Association of India, the mall witnesses a daily footfall of up to 14,000 during the weekdays, which reaches up to 25,000 during the weekends.

    Problem Faced by Select CityWalk

The mall initially relied on single user Tally, and within the first year of operations, transitioned it into a multi-user Tally. Tally is noted for its limitations, particularly its lack of front end and back end integration. This necessitates manual data entry for every business transaction, leading to inefficiencies. The absence of consistency and the difficulty in retrieving data from previous months further compound these challenges. In any business context, it’s imperative to establish seamless front end linkage with the back end to facilitate smooth process mapping within the system.

    Solution Offered By Uneecops

After a thorough evaluation of various software solutions such as NavVision, Microsoft, and others, Select CityWalk made the decision to implement SAP for managing common area maintenance expenses. Previously, these expenses were managed using Excel spreadsheets.

As of today, all common area maintenance costs have been directed through SAP, enabling precise tracking of expenses across different categories on a monthly basis. Currently, SAP seamlessly integrates all facets of the business operations, encompassing engineering, operations, security, and housekeeping.

SAP Business One offers adaptable usage options across different versions like ECC 6 or ECC 7. Although adjusting these configurations can be complex, users find it convenient to access information directly from SAP Business One.

    Benefits

Previously, manual calculations were required for common area maintenance, repair, and maintenance costs. However, with SAP, these tasks have now been automated, ensuring accurate results on a monthly basis and enhancing the efficiency of management reporting processes.

Furthermore, SAP simplifies multiple check printing with just a single click, streamlines payment processes, and facilitates direct communication with vendors and customers through email. Additionally, features for invoice raising and automation are available within the SAP system.

Occupiers now have the ability to access their accounts within the system, and virtual accounting through the bank has been implemented for tenant management purposes. Payments are automatically recorded in the organization’s books of accounts as soon as they are received into the bank account.

SAP Business One swiftly generates detailed reports by analyzing data from various SAP tables. There have been notable enhancements in both the quality and quantity of reports generated. In the context of the mall segment, where billing and finance constitute only a portion of operations, SAP has been customized to capture the entire operational workflow. This includes managing utility usage, security measures, and franchise operations, demonstrating the versatility and comprehensive capabilities of SAP.
