As enterprises look to unlock value from AI and data, the role of cloud is expanding far beyond infrastructure. India’s cloud journey is entering a decisive new phase, where the conversation has moved beyondmigration to intelligence, automation, and real business impact. In this interaction with Tech Achieve Media, Ashutosh Taiwal, Founder and Director of Goognu, shares his perspective on how the market is evolving, what differentiates Goognu in a crowded ecosystem, and how the company is helping businesses transition from cloud-first to AI-first. He also discusses the role of emerging technologies, sector-specific strategies, and the importance of partnerships in driving scalable and secure digital transformation.
TAM: How do you see the cloud computing market in India evolving over the next five years, and what role do you envision your company playing in shaping this growth?
Ashutosh Taiwal: If I look at the last 10 years, most Indian companies used cloud mainly for hosting applications and managing scale. That problem is largely solved now. The next 5 years will be very different. Cloud will move beyond just hosting to enabling AI-driven and intelligent applications. Companies will start focusing on building, training, and running their own AI models, and making their existing systems smarter. At Goognu, we have been part of this journey from the early days of cloud in India. Over the years, we have helped many businesses adopt and scale on cloud. Now, our role is evolving. We want to help customers not just run on cloud, but become AI-ready and AI-first. For us, it’s about making this shift simple, practical, and valuable for customers.
TAM: In a highly competitive Indian cloud ecosystem, what truly differentiates your offerings and approach from other service providers?
Ashutosh Taiwal:: What I have seen in the market is that most companies focus on just one area. Some are strong in cloud, some in development, some in security, and some build products. At Goognu, we bring all of this together.
When a customer works with us, we don’t just build software. We build scalable, cloud-native, and secure systems. We design the right infrastructure, we take care of security through VAPT assessments, and we also think from a product perspective. Because we’ve built our own products internally, we understand how systems should actually work in the real world, not just in theory. This combination helps us deliver solutions that are complete and practical, not just technically correct.
TAM: How is your organization leveraging emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and IoT to deliver measurable business value for customers?
Ashutosh Taiwal: For us, AI is not a separate offering. It’s becoming part of everything we do. Across our core areas, we are already using AI in a very practical way. In cloud operations, we have built our product BigBell.ai, where customers can actually interact with their cloud systems using AI. It simplifies operations a lot.
In development, we are making our teams AI-ready, which helps us deliver faster and more efficiently. In security, especially around VAPT, we are using AI to bridge the gap between identifying vulnerabilities and fixing them. At the end of the day, the focus is simple. We want to help customers save time, reduce effort, and improve reliability.
TAM: Indian enterprises have diverse and sector-specific requirements. How do you tailor your cloud solutions to address the unique needs of different industries and scales of operations?
Ashutosh Taiwal: Every industry has its own way of working, especially when it comes to security and compliance. We take a very tailored approach. Instead of giving a standard solution, we design based on the industry the customer belongs to.
For example, in healthcare, we ensure the architecture aligns with HIPAA requirements. In fintech, we design systems that are aligned with PCI standards. Because we understand both cloud and security well, we build compliance into the system from day one. This makes it easier for customers to scale without worrying about regulatory challenges later.
TAM: What are the key challenges you encounter in the Indian market today, and what strategies are you adopting to ensure long-term, sustainable growth?
Ashutosh Taiwal: Interestingly, the challenge today feels very similar to what we saw around 2013 or 2015 during early cloud adoption. Back then, companies were hesitant because of data concerns. Today, we see a similar hesitation, but this time around AI.
Our approach is to focus on awareness and clarity. We help customers understand how these AI platforms work, how their data is handled, and what controls they have. Also, since we provide end-to-end support, customers don’t have to work with multiple vendors. That builds trust. The good part is that adoption is happening much faster this time. Companies are more open, and they are willing to experiment and move quickly.
TAM: Could you share more about your partnership with SoftwareOne and how this collaboration strengthens your cloud and digital transformation capabilities for customers?
Ashutosh Taiwal: For us, the partnership with SoftwareOne is not just about working together. It’s about being part of a much larger ecosystem. They help us connect with the right partners, platforms, and opportunities without having to search everything on our own. So when a customer comes with a requirement, we are able to quickly find the right solution or the right partner through this network. It makes our delivery stronger and faster, and it ensures that the customer always gets the best possible outcome.
TAM: Looking ahead, what is your long-term vision for India, particularly in serving high-impact sectors such as healthcare, financial services, and manufacturing?
Ashutosh Taiwal: Looking ahead,, the future is not going to be only product-driven or only service-driven. It will be a combination of both. For sectors like healthcare, fintech, and manufacturing, the need is very specific. They need solutions that are practical and easy to adopt. Our vision at Goognu is to help these organizations make their systems AI-ready, and also provide modular AI solutions that they can start using quickly. Along with that, we will continue to support them with the right services to ensure everything works smoothly. In simple terms, we want to help businesses move faster, adopt AI with confidence, and build systems that are ready for the future.
