Wipro has elevated its senior vice president and global head of business systems and application management Kenny Kesar to the role of new global CIO. Kenny Kesar succeeds Anup Purohit, who had bene associated with the company as its Global CIO from the past four years. Kesar, who was earlier associated with SAP for over 12 years, re-joined Wipro around two years ago.

Anup Purohit also announced his decision to move on from Wipro on the professional social networking platform. “Last week marked the end of my incredible four-year journey as Global CIO at Wipro, one of India’s largest global system integrators (GSI). In May 2021, as we emerged from COVID and embraced hybrid work, I embarked on an exciting opportunity to build a top-tier technology function within a technology company—an amazing opportunity for a lifelong banker. I assembled a dream team, blending experienced and fresh talent. Over the next four years, we achieved a lean yet outcome-driven tech strategy, and transformed the CIO function from a support role into a key business driver,” he said.
