How is Xiaomi Mini LED TV Different from LED and LCD TVs?

The company claims that the TV uses QD Mini-LED technology with 512 local dimming zones in the 75 inch variant, delivering deeper blacks, higher brightness, and more precise contrast than conventional LED TVs. It offers up to 1200 nits peak brightness, with typical brightness around 600 nits for excellent visibility and HDR performance. “Thousands of smaller LEDs work together to deliver greater precision, deeper contrast, and striking brightness. This isn’t just an upgrade. It’s a whole new way of seeing, whole new way of Outshining the Ordinary,” adds the company.

Most LED televisions illuminate large sections of the screen at once, often resulting in washed-out blacks, light bleed and a noticeable loss of detail. Mini LED technology , Xiaomi claims, addresses this challenge by enabling far more precise control over backlighting, adjusting illumination scene by scene to deliver improved contrast and clarity.

As far as comparison with LCD TVs are concerned, high-level Mini LED dimming divides the screen into numerous independent backlight zones, allowing precise control over brightness and darkness across every part of the image. With the addition of a light sensor that detects ambient conditions in real time and automatically adjusts brightness, along with a colour temperature sensor that fine-tunes tones accordingly, the technology delivers enhanced brightness, deeper contrast and more lifelike detail.
